Xreal’s new budget viewing glasses can quickly change your look

Xreal makes some My favorite viewing glasses Around, they act as monitors connected to a USB-C port that can be worn as glasses. Xreal’s new $299 pair of viewing glasses, called the a01, are part of a new sub-brand called X by Xreal. It’s much less expensive than other Xreal glasses and has some smart features that its other glasses lack.

For the most part, a01 glasses are feature-limited compared to glasses Excelial One Pro and 1S. They have a slightly smaller field of view (50 degrees) and lack the opaque lens and chipset that can hold the screen in place.

But they also offer notable advantages. The 1,600 nits brightness of these Micro OLED displays is significantly higher than that of previous Xreal glasses, and I’m curious to compare them. It also supports HDR10 video technology, which is TCL’s latest release Ray New Air 4 Pro She has glasses too. The glasses are also very light at 62 grams.

What’s most interesting to me is a new “anti-shake” mode that promises more stable video playback while in motion, and a series of easy-to-install, interchangeable frame interfaces that can change the look of the glasses. There are clear lens and sunglasses options in the mix.

The X by Xreal a01 is arriving in China now, then will be available in the US sometime in July. I’ll review them next, and we’ll see if these glasses can beat out the RayNeo Air 4 Pro as the best budget-bound viewing glasses in a year already overloaded with smart glasses.
