Meta says the link won’t launch automatically, so it’s up to you to decide if linking WhatsApp to the Accounts Center is your thing. If you do, Meta will start using your WhatsApp information “to do things like provide, personalize, and improve its products and services, including showing you ads,” according to Change help page.
Other Meta apps will not use personal WhatsApp data “except to limit the number of people we serve, keep people safe, or provide optional features that work across Meta products,” the company wrote. It also says that linking your account will not change the fact that messages are end-to-end encrypted in WhatsApp.
In the future, Meta says it will add the ability for users to go to the Accounts Center to manage things like Meta AI stickers or AI-generated avatars created with the Imagine Me feature.
