Watch all of next weekend’s Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix for free on Apple TV


Formula 1 is trying to reach a wider audience this season: it has streamed its first race on Netflix; The final season of the wonderful documentary series F1: Driving to survive It is currently available on both Apple TV and Netflix; And now, for another first, you can stream this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix for free on Apple TV, with no subscription required.

(And from a “reaching a wider audience” perspective, it also can’t hurt that one of the most successful drivers on the track, Lewis Hamilton, is dating reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who has appeared in many of his races.)

Hamilton, who drives a Ferrari, is currently second in the drivers’ standings this season behind Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli. Rounding out the top five drivers in the standings this season are George Russell, Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris. You can catch them and the rest of the season’s best drivers as they compete in the Grand Prix this weekend.

As usual, a Formula 1 race is actually a full weekend of practice and qualifying races culminating in the Grand Prix, and you’ll be able to watch every race of the weekend from Friday practice through to the main event on Sunday. Here’s what you need to know if you want to listen to it.

When is the next Formula 1 race?

The Austrian Grand Prix, held at the Red Bull Ring in the hills of Styria, Austria, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 28 at 9 a.m. ET (6 a.m. PT, 2 p.m. GMT). Practice and the qualifying race are scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday.

How to watch the Austrian Grand Prix for free

As of this racing season, Apple TV is the home of live streaming of F1 races, and fans can follow every race on the platform included with their subscription. This weekend, Apple TV is opening things up to non-subscribers as well. Anyone can watch all five events at the Red Bull Ring, including Sunday’s Grand Prix.
