Verizon will pay you $20 after a nationwide outage — here’s how to get it


Verizon is offering customers a $20 account credit after a major outage Service dropped across the United States Wednesday. in Update on XVerizon says you’ll receive a text message when the credit is available, which you can redeem by logging into the myVerizon app and accepting it.

“Yesterday, we did not achieve the level of excellence you expect and that we expect of ourselves,” Verizon wrote. “This credit is not meant to make up for what happened. No credit can really do that.” Verizon adds that the $20 credit should cover “several days of service.”

Verizon went offline for customers across the US on Wednesday at around 12pm ET. The outage left many people unable to connect to the network, with their phones going into SOS mode. The carrier resolved the outage around 10:15 PM ET, but did not say what caused the problem. If you’re still having issues, Verizon suggests restarting your device to reconnect to the network.
