RedMagic’s $849 11S Pro, which was unveiled on Wednesday, includes some small tweaks to the previous version Red Magic 11 Pro Which debuted last fall. But as is the case throughout the phone industry,… New phone It also gets a price hike of $100 which may be attributed to High cost of electronics.
The RedMagic 11S Pro has two major changes: The phone now includes a “flagship edition” of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th generation chip, while the liquid cooling system that debuted on the 11 Pro is now transparently visible across every model in the line. This means you can see the coolant moving inside the phone when it’s activated, which seems like just a cosmetic change. In RedMagic 11 Pro, the Cryo version didn’t have a transparent background that would allow you to see the system, even though it was there.
Each RedMagic 11S Pro model features a visible liquid cooling system, which will rotate in a circular pattern when activated.
Aside from these points, the phone is largely identical to the model released last fall, including features like a large 7,500 mAh battery, 80W wired charging with the charger in the box and a built-in cooling fan that can run at 24,000 rpm. Most of these features benefit anyone who prioritizes mobile gaming at high graphics settings. These features extend gaming sessions with a larger battery while avoiding overheating with the cooling fan and liquid cooling system.
The cameras – which have never been a focus of this line of gaming phones – include a 50-megapixel rear and a 50-megapixel ultrawide. The 16MP selfie camera is placed below the screen, which is great for viewing content since there aren’t any screen cutouts, but this usually comes at the cost of making photos and video chats look a bit fuzzy.
The RedMagic 11S Pro features the flagship version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 as its processor, a slight iteration of the processor that debuted in the 11 Pro last fall.
The RedMagic 11S Pro works too Android 16 With the company’s overlay, which I saw during my short hands-on period fixed some of the issues I’ve seen in previous RedMagic phones. The company’s pre-installed web browser (simply called “Browser”) no longer displays random ads when you open it, which was a major annoyance, given that phone’s high price.
RedMagic also made the Google Discover feed the default when you swipe left from the home screen, rather than the company’s own panel feed, which I thought looked like junk. (You can still choose it from the settings menu, if you wish.)
Unfortunately, RedMagic still adds a watermark to photos taken with its cameras by default, but this is a setting you can turn off.
RedMagic fans will likely continue to like what the company has to offer with the 11S Pro, considering the company’s focus on making powerful phones that make it easy to run games at high settings. But the $100 increase in price for a model that just arrived last fall is annoying.
Cost is $849 for the 256GB black model. Moving up to the 512GB model (in black or silver) costs $949. This makes the RedMagic 11S Pro cost roughly the same as mainstream flagship phones like Samsung Galaxy S26 and OnePlus 15both of which are probably a better fit for most people since they focus more on camera quality as well as processor power.
And unless you already purchased the previous RedMagic 11 Pro phone at a lower cost, you might actually be out of luck as the company’s website shows the phone as out of stock as of this writing. Meanwhile, he stepped down Red Magic 11 Air — which is powered by last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor — appears to still be on sale at $599 for its 512GB variant. Someone who is curious about getting their first gaming phone might be better off with this budget phone as it offers many of the same features as the 11S Pro apart from liquid cooling.
Pre-orders will begin on June 3, and the phone will go on sale globally on June 10.
