You have upgraded from Pixel A series buds They were released in 2021 to the Pixel Buds Pro 2, and two things immediately became apparent: the A-series headphones didn’t sound very good for their sub-$100 price, and the Pixel Buds Pro 2 were everything I wanted in a successor. They’re smaller and have silicone ear fins to ensure a comfortable fit, but their upgraded features — better sound quality, active noise cancellation, and Transparency mode — match their best. If you’re planning to upgrade soon, this model has just returned to its all-time low price of $169.99 (was $229.99) at Amazon, Best buy, Walmart (in limited colors), and Google store.
These wireless earbuds can work with any device via Bluetooth, but they work best when paired with a Pixel phone running newer versions of Android. You can view each bud’s current battery levels as well as status through the home screen widget, or using the Pixel Buds app. You can customize the touch gestures on each earbud, and set functions like activating the Gemini-powered voice assistant or adjusting noise control. Turning off all touch controls is an option, as is turning on head gestures, such as nodding to answer a phone call. Alternatively, you can customize most of these features with Google’s browser-based companion app for computers.
My only issue really with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 is that none of the silicone ear tips stay in my ears (they fit, but my inner ear flab takes over in pushing them out while I’m walking, talking, chewing, etc.). However, this Memory Foam Tips $16.99 From Tang Town with questionable names on Amazon did the job.
