In the crowded world of noise-cancelling headphones, nothing has made a name for itself with solid specs and a distinct aesthetic, often relying on an outdated transparent design or bold color choices, especially in the budget-friendly CMF line. the Headset A Take a somewhat more traditional approach, but it’s very similar to last year’s approach Headphone 1. In essence, the second pair of over-ear headphones doesn’t retain the best parts of the Headphone 1, just at a much lower price. The earbuds feature a similar rectangular shape with oval enclosures. However, it uses opaque colors instead of a transparent coating, giving it a more subdued look. The headband and memory foam cups were comfortable enough in our tests, too, while a range of physical controls let you manage playback, volume, noise cancellation, and other aspects without fiddling with capacitive buttons. It even carries an IP52 rating – meaning it can handle sweat and light rain – and supports wired listening via USB-C and 3.5mm ports.
As for sound quality, it can be fairly average out of the box. Fortunately, it’s relatively easy to manipulate the default presets using the EQ in the Nothing Active noise cancellation, while not on par with more expensive devices from Sony and Bose, is also good for the price, allowing you to easily tune out the low frequencies of the outside world using one of three levels (there’s also a useful adaptive option). Don’t expect the noise cancellation on the microphone end to be effective for calls.
