Motorola has revamped its Edge phone For 2026, the new design seems to emphasize being lightweight. With a weight of 160 grams, it is lighter than iPhone Air from Apple (165 grams) and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (163 grams), Motorola’s Edge still manages to include a triple camera system featuring a zoom telephoto lens. This camera system includes a 50MP wide camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Also on the front of the phone’s 6.3-inch display is a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
For the phone’s $600 price tag, this kind of camera system, coupled with the phone’s light weight, is very noticeable. Last year’s Edge, for reference, It’s much heavier at 181g, but includes a larger 6.7-inch display with curved edges.
Returning to the phone’s price, its $600 price represents an increase of $50 over last year’s Edge phone, which is unusual in a year where many other phones have become… Get more expensive. But there are several trade-offs made to the Edge last year that make the price hike seem like it was shrinkage. This year’s Edge only has 128GB, while last year’s phone had 256GB for less money. This also seems particularly expensive when you compare the Edge to other phones at like $600 Google Pixel 10A, Apple iPhone 17E phone And Motorola own Moto G Stylus. All three of these devices come in a 256GB model for the same price of $600.
This puts the Edge in a bit of an awkward spot when compared to other phones. Although the Edge’s camera system and light weight are notable for its price, it’s a worry that you may fill up the 128GB storage capacity on the phone very quickly if you take a lot of photos with the camera. We’ll need to get some hands-on time with the phone and its camera to see if the design and photography can help it stand out, but on paper, it seems like most people would likely benefit from an option that includes more storage, even if it requires sacrificing that 3x optical zoom.
Other notable specifications on the Motorola Edge include 60W wired charging (which is fast for this price range), 15W wireless charging (which is average) and a 5,000mAh battery. It’s powered by a mid-range MediaTek 7450 processor, which is similar to what Motorola includes in the processor $800 Razr for 2026.
The Motorola Edge will go on sale on June 11.
