MacBook Neo It had a lot of success last month. The $599 price tag for the MacBook seemed groundbreaking, and that was easy to say Windows laptops He didn’t have a real answer for that.
But what if I told you that there is a Windows option that is better at almost everything? This is the HP OmniBook 5, a laptop you’ve probably never heard of unless you’ve been keeping a close eye on the space. I’ve been recommending it since I tested it last month, and the price has fluctuated. But today, It’s only $500This buys a stacked configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. This is poor memory and storage MacBook Neo, priced at $599. It’s also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon
Now, I know what you’re thinking. Specs don’t tell the whole story, and Apple has never been known for offering a lot of specs on the cheap. But the OmniBook 5 14 is also an attractive design in a very portable package. At 0.5 inches thick, it’s exactly the same thickness as the MacBook Neo and the same weight, too. Does the MacBook Neo have a little more style and personality? Absolutely, especially with the bolder color options. But I will say that the OmniBook 5 is a very nice laptop in its own right.
Two of the biggest downtimes with the MacBook Neo were the smaller things. First, its SSD storage speed was very slow, and the USB-C ports were outdated. The OmniBook 5 has two USB-C ports capable of 10Gbps, plus a fast USB-A port on the other side. And while the MacBook Neo doesn’t even have a fingerprint sensor, the OmniBook 5 has an infrared camera with Windows Hello facial recognition.
