It’s not for everyone, it didn’t work for my 3a curly hair When I tested it-But if your goal with heat tools is to prevent damage, this is one of the best options out there. It also comes in a smaller 1-inch version for $14 less. I think it’s worth getting the larger boards to get the job done faster, but 1-inch boards are easier to maneuver. —Kat Merck

I love this giant jug of SPF 50 sunscreen. It smells like the beach, applies evenly without leaving a white cast on my olive skin, and absorbs quickly. I tested it at the beach on Memorial Day with a very fresh stomach tattoo and was able to avoid burns.
