To get you started, here’s a list of the eight models we tested in this latest roundup to find the best electric kettle:
Chefman Easy Fill Electric Kettle: This is a great value for under $30. Pour-through lid makes filling quick and easy. It does not have a temperature control feature, and it does not keep the water hot after it reaches the boiling point. It was one of the slower kettles, taking 6 minutes to boil. If you just want to boil water and don’t need any bells and whistles, this is the one for you.
Hamilton Beach Cool Touch Kettle: With five temperature presets, a cool-to-the-touch exterior, a fast boiling time and a reasonable price, this is a great choice for tea drinkers. It can maintain the set temperature for up to 30 minutes.
Beautiful kettlebell from Drew Barrymore in one touch: Our overall winner is a great value with a range of features, as it brings water to a boil as quickly as any electric kettle we’ve tested. It has four preset temperatures, but you can dial it up or down in five-degree increments. This attractive kettle will maintain your chosen water temperature for up to 60 minutes, and the cool-touch exterior design makes it a safer option.
KitchenAid electric kettle 1.25 litres: This has an unusual appearance for an electric kettle in that it looks like a traditional kettle. It’s small, cute, and comes in a range of color options, making it one of our top picks. You can also match it with other KitchenAid appliances, like the mixer. It includes a mesh filter to trap limescale for cleaner water but otherwise doesn’t offer any great features.
Bodum Miglior Gooseneck Electric Kettle: At around $40, this is the cheapest gooseneck kettle option I’ve tested. If this is the only feature you need, the price point makes the Bodum an attractive choice, but it lacks premium features and is relatively slow to boil compared to other higher wattage options.
Kosori Electric Gooseneck Kettle: If you want an affordable gooseneck kettle with five temperature presets for tea and coffee, plus a 60-minute temperature hold, this is the kettle for around $60-$70. Clearly marked buttons on the base make it easy to use.
Stagg EKG electric kettle: Do you want to impress your guests with the best coffee? With a retail price of between $165 and $195 depending on the finish, this is a great product, but it has the best features for coffee lovers. The Stagg has a gooseneck spout that you want to control the pouring, and you’ll be able to set the exact temperature you want and then hold it there for 60 minutes. Plus, it’s an absolutely gorgeous addition to any kitchen, something you’ll be proud to display.
Aromamaster Gooseneck Electric Kettle (Update: Out of stock): The gooseneck spout and built-in analogue thermometer are the highlights of this kettle. The gooseneck spout is essential for pouring coffee, and knowing the exact temperature is important because you don’t want the water at a full boil to brew the coffee. You can’t set or maintain a specific temperature, but at least you can see it on this kettle.

Finally, here are the test notes from previous years’ tests.
The Zwilling Enfinigy performed well, and we liked the simple design.
the Zwilling Infinity A favorite right out of the box from a purely aesthetic perspective, this kettle performed at a high level during our tests too. The design is sturdy, and I have designed a simple one-button design. At just over 2 pounds, it’s not too bulky, and has a nice textured exterior for finger safety. There is also a The Pro model has a similar appearance and is of equal size now.
Another top pick from previous years Oxo Pro Adjustable Kettlebell. With her Gooseneck faucetIt’s a particularly attractive kettle for pour-over or other manual coffee-making setups that require a steady, controlled pour. It’s still a great choice, but the Cosori gooseneck kettle offers similar features and performance while costing a few dollars less.
At the same time, OXO Pro Cordless Glass Kettle It was actually the fastest and most consistent kettle from our 2021 boiling tests. It has a sleek, sturdy design and will fit well into any kitchen theme, especially if you prefer an electric kettle with a glass carafe.
the Smarter iKettle: Currently not available in the US, it performed well in our tests, and I liked the sturdy stainless steel design. It’s the only app-controlled kettle we’ve tested, which has proven to be both a blessing and a curse. Specifically, it boiled water quickly and completely when controlled through the app, but stopped before it reached a full boil when I tried to boil water the old-fashioned way, using the button on the side of the kettle. If you’re an app junkie, it’s convenient to be able to see how much water is in your kettle and start boiling it remotely from your device. Whether or not it’s worth paying a little more than you would for a regular electric kettle is up to you.
Smeg gets you nifty points and boiling water in no time, but it’s a bit pricey for what it does.
The price Smeg electric kettle It was another high-octane kettle with solid construction and a good amount of old charm to boot. My main beef is that it gets very hot to the touch. They are also very expensive, especially considering the lack of special features other than boiling water. If you like the look, you won’t be disappointed, but it doesn’t offer much value.
the Cuisinart Perfect Temp It also performed well in testing but its performance doesn’t match the $100 list price (although it can be found on sale for as low as $68). If you’re looking to get one from this brand and the PerfectTemp isn’t on sale, I highly recommend this one The basic model is $70which has fewer presets but is more affordable. As my (now former) colleague Megan Woolerton reported in her first round of testing for CNET, PerfectTemp received customer feedback and Amazon reviews It states that its automatic shut-off feature is defective and poses a potential fire hazard. Cuisinart did not respond to a request for comment.
Both Ovente electric kettles I tested – priced at $27 Ovente Lighting (Update: Out of stock) $50 (now under $40) Ovinti Victoria Series – Affordable options that boil water quickly and are easy to use. Neither stood out in testing, and they felt a bit cheap to make. In addition, they both had lids that unnecessarily separated from the kettle, meaning you could misplace them. Knowing me, I probably would.
Sensors attached to the 4-channel K Thermometer SD Logger help keep track of water temperature.
