The Eureka vacuum cleaner is particularly unique because it costs a fraction of the price of most of the top models we recommend from brands like Dyson and shark.
The ReactiSense 440 is usually $180 at full price, but you can buy it for just $153 on Amazon. While it’s not the historic low of $140, it’s very close and still puts the ReactiSense 440 at well under $200. It’s basically half the price of the Stratos selling on Amazon.
the Eureka Reaction 440 We particularly liked it during our tests at CNET’s Louisville lab, outperforming more expensive competitors. It recorded a remarkable 97.53% sand pickup on hardwood floors. It performed better at picking up carpets, which is typically a challenge for most cordless models, scoring 98.53% on low-pile carpets and 92.16% on medium-pile carpets.
It also doesn’t compromise on features, including a smart sensor that automatically adjusts suction power to take into account dirt and debris.
“Eureka performed great in all the tests,” Shelar Breitenstein, an associate lab engineer at CNET, told me. “I just wish the run time was a little longer but the pickup was better than the Shark Stratos, surprisingly.”
The ReactiSense 440 earned a CNET Editors’ Choice for its combination of solid performance and price. What’s also impressive to me, as someone who has used it for months at home, is how well it works with pet hair. Like the Shark Stratos, it has an anti-tangle brush roll, and I’ve never had an issue with the vacuum getting clogged or tangled, despite my three cats testing it.
Battery life is 48.6 minutes, but I found it to be more than enough to clean my three-bed, 1,300-square-foot apartment without running out of charge.
