The squid babies will be back this summer. Nintendo announced this morning that Splatoon Raidersa single-player spin-off of the competitive shooter series, will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23. It will be the first new entry in the series since Splatoon 3 In 2022.

In addition to the date, Nintendo has also released a new trailer that gives a better idea of what’s to come Raiders It will actually play like. Essentially, it seems to keep the same ink-focused shooter gameplay – and killer soundtrack – from the main series, but translates it into a new campaign. However, while Nintendo describes the game as “single-player focused,” Raiders It includes some co-op elements, where you can team up with up to three other players, either online or locally.

Here’s the setup, according to Nintendo:

Play as a mechanic working with Deep Cut, a trio of adventurous musicians, and venture into the mysterious Spirhalite Islands! Customize your appearance, equip mech gadgets and ink-spattering weapons, and take on hordes of aggressive sea creatures called Salmonids in search of treasure.

Nintendo just released Slice of Life Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (which is also available on the original Switch) and Significant expansion of Super Mario Bros WonderBut the rest of 2026 currently consists of only Yoshi and the Mysterious Book (maybe), Rhythm Sky Grove (July), Fire Emblem: Weave of Luck (Release date TBD), and now spoon.
