Soundcore announced the Space 2 budget headphones at MWC 2026

We finally have an update to the Soundcore Space One that launched two and a half years ago. At MWC 2026, Soundcore announced the Space 2, which will be available in the US on April 21 in three colors – linen white, jet black, and sea green – for $129.99. That’s $30 more than Space One’s original price.

According to Soundcore, Space 2 has received a full noise cancellation upgrade with those improvements being focused on the low-frequency sounds we all generally use ANC headphones to block out things like the sounds of plane engines, trains, and buses while travelling. The Space 2 uses the same number of microphones as the Space One for noise cancellation, rather than relying on optimized microphone placement and chassis and material improvements to boost performance.

The redesigned 40mm drivers incorporate dual layers into their design. There’s a silk diaphragm combined with a mineral ceramic that’s supposed to result in faster transient response — the driver’s ability to respond to sudden sound quickly and accurately — with better balanced sound reproduction. The Space One had great audio performance for the price, but I support any improvement in the fidelity of audio performance. Like the Space One, the Space 2 will support LDAC high-resolution audio.

The headphones connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 6.1, although they don’t support it Oracast Transmission – unfortunate exclusion. There is also a 3.5mm jack for wired connectivity.

Battery life has been increased to up to 50 hours with ANC on and 70 hours with ANC off. That’s up to 40 hours with ANC and 55 hours without ANC with the Space One headphones. With a five-minute charge, Space 2 gets an additional four hours of listening.

Space 2 will include many of the features found in Space One. You can use HearID 3.0 to browse through a series of audio samples to fine-tune the headphones’ sound to your preference. It worked well for me on the Space One to get them closer to the sound I liked, while removing some of the edge from the higher frequencies. There’s also a sensor that detects when you remove the headphones and stops playback so you don’t miss any of your music or podcasts. It again comes with a cloth bag that matches the color of the speakers instead of a case, which is one change I wish Soundcore had king Made, because the fabric bag doesn’t offer a lot of protection if you tend to put the headphones in a backpack or suitcase.

The Soundcore Space One was among the best budget ANC headphones when it came out, and it still holds up with newer releases. But with the price rising to over $100 for Space 2, there is more to be expected. ANC performance continues to improve — and products get cheaper — across manufacturers, so the Soundcore Space 2 faces some competition from companies like Sony, EarFun, and JLab. If the Space 2’s ANC technology holds up against current budget headphones and still sounds as good and comfortable as the Space One, you can expect to see the new Soundcore Space 2 on many recommendations lists.
