Roku’s $3 streaming service Howdy is now available on Prime Video


Amazon’s Prime Video just welcomed a new additional subscription: Roku’s $3-a-month streaming service, Howdy.

Roku first launched the commercially free Howdy app in August 2025. Initially accessible on Roku devices, the service is now available as a file Subscribe to the Prime Video add-on In the United States, joining the likes of Apple TV and Ad-free Peacock. Prime members can choose to pay extra for add-on subscriptions like Howdy and watch more content directly through the Prime Video app. The addition marks Howdy’s first expansion outside of the Roku platform.

According to Roku, the Howdy streaming service is a place to find “popular sitcoms, medical dramas, ’90s comedies, and heartwarming classics,” with thousands of titles and more than 10,000 hours of programming. Subscribers can watch select Roku originals and content from partners, including Disney, FilmRise, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros. Discovery. Current titles include Howdy Paddington, Sicario, and Nurse Jackie.

Howdy is on the lower end of the streaming service pricing spectrum. In August, Roku CEO Anthony Wood said in a statement that it was “designed to complement, not compete with, premium services.” Adding it to Prime Video could be an opportunity to browse the service’s content offerings and see if it makes sense for you.
