Reddit Now users are allowed Post videos directly in the comments. The company announced the feature on Thursday, calling it “a more expressive and authentic way to contribute to conversations.” You can record a new short video response or upload an existing video directly within specific subgroups.
A Reddit representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“We are constantly evolving Reddit to deliver a more immersive and authentic human experience,” said Maria Angelido Smith, chief product officer at Reddit, He said in a statement. “The ability to respond with video gives users more creative ways to engage in the communities they love.”

Reddit highlighted several ways you can leverage video comments, such as sharing step-by-step recipe instructions and makeup tutorials. In reference to World Cupand the company suggested users “show off their impressive soccer skills in response to a sports topic.”
The video icon will appear in the comment box for communities that support comments on the video. Videos do not play automatically. They will not appear immediately after upload, as they will be reviewed by Reddit’s security systems to ensure they comply with the site’s terms of service.
