It is ridiculous, but here we were in Wire we have been a long time ago Wireless charging. Not having to stumble with cables is nice! Most wireless charging these days follow the QI (clear Chee), which took time to reach everywhere. (The user experience is not always great. The Wireless Energy Union, which runs the shipping protocol, announced the release of the next generation called Qi2 in early 2023, and we finally started to see the devices it supports. It is perfectly align, with the possibility of accessories for Android and iPhone.
Unfortunately, the Qi2 has not been launched quickly or widely as we expected this year. As of August 2024, there is only an Android accredited phone from QI2, which is Skyline HMD (6/10, wire reviewWe felt dismay when we found that he did not succeed with some of the oldest Qi chargers. Is qi2 coming?
It was updated in August 2024: We have added details about Qi2 adoption, clarification to different certificates options, and unwanted news that some QI2 devices cannot charge them using Qi shipments.

QI2 is the new open wireless charging standard from Wireless Authority Union (WPC), which brings important promotions to the original QI standard. The title is the Magnetic Energy Power (MPP), which depends on Apple’s Magsafe technology. (Apple participated in the development of the QI2 standard.) This allows the Qi2 devices to add a magnet loop to ensure perfect alignment with charging devices and allowing faster charging speeds.
Another standard, non -magnetic wireless charging file (EPP). This has led to Some confusion. Pair Golden from WPC refers, and EPP refers to a device that corresponds to the specifications, but it is not official Qi2 and therefore cannot use the logo or refer to it as the Qi2 device. Golden Wire told an email that these devices “will carry the Qi logo, not Qi2, and that the packaging materials and/or marketing have a statement required that the device does not contain a magnet. Any device that carries the QI2 sign is MPP and must include magnets.”
QI2 is also completely compatible with completely backward, so you can charge the oldest Qi Android phone or iPhone Magsafe on the QI2 charger. We have tested several, and this seems true. We also expected that any old QI charger would receive QI2 devices, although at a slower speed, but it turns out that this is not true. For example, Skyline HMD did not work with many old Qi charging devices that we tested, and this may be equal to the cycle. We will have to wait until he discovers more QI2 phones, but with heavy weights failure like Google and Samsung in adopting QI2 in the latest, that may be a moment.

Wireless charging with QI2 brings many improvements to the original Qi standard.
