MacBooks tend to do that It’s the cheapest on Amazon, making it a great product to shop for Prime Minister’s Day. However, these days, it’s becoming increasingly confusing to know which one is right for you. The reliable MacBook Air, powerful MacBook Pro, and affordable MacBook Neo are on sale this Prime Day, though there aren’t any deep discounts beyond normal.

MacBook Air
the MacBook Air M5 It is the laptop that most people should buy. If you work on your laptop full-time, you want something without major compromises, and that’s exactly what the MacBook Air offers. It’s an almost perfect laptop for what it aims to do.
You may be tempted by the lower price of the MacBook Neo or the brighter screen of the MacBook Pro. I get it. The attraction is strong both ways, but trust me: the MacBook Air is the more logical choice. It’s extremely portable, the screen remains vibrant and bright, and the M5’s performance will hold up for years to come. But more importantly, the MacBook Air is one you’ll buy that won’t make you regret it later, either because you overpaid for the MacBook Pro or because you feel constrained by the limitations of the MacBook Neo.
Sure enough, Apple was selling the previous MacBook Air for as low as $750 at this time last year. But the 2026 M5 comes with double the storage capacity (now 512GB). The lowest price right now is at Amazon, where the basic configuration costs $949. That’s $150 off, and while it’s not the lowest price I’ve seen on this laptop, it’s still a solid deal compared to the competition in Windows land.

MacBook Pro
The next best MacBook deal for Prime Day is on MacBook Pro M5. This is the 14-inch model, which launched in late 2025. While it doesn’t represent a huge increase in performance over the MacBook Air, it does give you an HDR-ready Mini-LED display. It’s brighter and more color accurate than the MacBook Air. It also comes with a Nano Texture display option, which is great at reducing glare. The other major upgrade is in the additional ports, which include HDMI and an SD card slot. On top of that, it’s a slightly thicker laptop with better speakers and a slightly larger screen.
