Sure enough, Apple was selling the previous MacBook Air for as low as $750 at this time last year. But the 2026 M5 comes with double the storage capacity (now 512GB). The lowest price right now is at Amazon, where the basic configuration costs $949. That’s $150 off, and while it’s not the lowest price I’ve seen on this laptop, it’s still a solid deal compared to the competition in Windows land. It’s especially good considering the new $1,299 starting price at which Apple is now selling this same configuration. Whew.

MacBook Pro
The next best MacBook deal for Prime Day is on MacBook Pro M5. This is the 14-inch model, which launched in late 2025. While it doesn’t represent a huge increase in performance over the MacBook Air, it does give you an HDR-ready Mini-LED display. It’s brighter and more color accurate than the MacBook Air. It also comes with a Nano Texture display option, which is great for reducing glare. The other major upgrade is in the additional ports, which include HDMI and an SD card slot. On top of that, it’s a slightly thicker laptop with better speakers and a slightly larger screen.
But what really makes this product worth buying is the price. Amazon kept the initial model around $1,550 before Apple raised its price to $1,999. Given how quickly Amazon and other retailers have raised their prices to match Apple’s, I’m not sure how long this deal will last.
The M5 Pro and M5 Max configurations are where you really start to increase performance, and there are some lower prices here to consider as well. The 14-inch MacBook Pro comes with the M5 Max Price starting from $3300 Compared to Apple’s price of $4,099. This is an expensive laptop, yes, but it also offers some huge savings.
MacBook Neo
the MacBook Neo It was supposed to be Apple’s first really affordable MacBook, but a $100 price increase made things more difficult. Although it only comes with 8GB of RAM, the laptop now retails for $699 (or $799 for the model with twice the storage). And don’t forget: Instead of a proper Mac chip, it uses the A18 Pro chip, designed for iPhones.
Unfortunately, Amazon removed the listings before Apple changed prices, so your options are now limited. The only big discount on offer is on the Blush edition of the 512GB model, which is $110 cheaper than Apple. The good news is that Walmart is still selling its configurations before raising prices, which means you still can Get the entry-level MacBook Neo for $599.
