like The third book of power: Raising Canaan Gearing up to wrap up its five-season saga this summer, Starz is giving fans a taste of what’s to come in its next prequel in the Power franchise, Power: Origins. A new trailer and first images were released on Thursday, showing the dynamic duo of James “Ghost” St. Patrick and Tommy Egan as the teens look to make their mark on the streets of New York City.
Spence Moore stars as Young Ghost, with Charlie Mann as Tommy and Michael Curtis reprising his role as Kanan Stark. In the original Power series, which ran for six seasons from 2014 to 2020, Omari Hardwick played the Ghost, Joseph Sikora played his partner-turned-enemy, Tommy, with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as the notorious killer, Kanan.

The remake, currently in production, will explore the fan-favorite characters in their younger years as friends who enter the drug trade under Kanan’s tutelage. Other cast members joining the series include Hale Harper, Nadia Dajani (reprising her role as Teresa Boselli), Kelly McCreery, Damon Gupton and Tonya Pinkins (playing Ghost’s grandmother). Jason Dirden returns as Traymont Stinson, a character in Raising Kanan Jennifer Vereen will play Tommy’s mother, Kate Egan.
Power: Origins, co-written by Sasha Penn and Power creator Courtney Kemp, will be the fourth installment in the entire series. All series, including Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force, can be streamed on Starz.
