Oppo’s foldable phone almost never launched in Europe after all

Oppo has launched its ‘crease-free’ foldable phone, the Find N6, but while we’ve learned it’s unlikely to launch in the US, it’s a shame to discover that the promised ‘global’ launch is also leaving Europe out in the cold. Instead, the Find N6 will go on sale from March 20 across what the company called its “key markets” in Asia, along with Australia and New Zealand.

It’s a shame, because like Look for N5 Before that, the N6 looks to be one of the best foldable phones yet. The standout feature is of course its wrinkles, which… I looked in detail last week. With the help of a 3D-printed liquid hinge column, it’s the least wrinkled I’ve seen on any foldable phone — by some means — and it’s really hard to see or feel. The wrinkles weren’t completely gone, but they were close enough that they were now unlikely to bother anyone.

The Find N6 isn’t the thinnest foldable device yet – this is Honor Magic V6 – But at 8.93mm and 225, it’s about the same size and weight Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7And the Honor phone is a hair thinner anyway. The Magic V6 also has a larger battery, although the Find N6’s 6,000mAh silicon-carbon capacity is nothing to sniff at, and should be enough to keep this device comfortable all day long.

Cameras seem like the other area where the phone might excel. The triple rear camera system includes a 200MP main camera, ultra-wide cameras, and 50MP telephoto cameras, all of which use Samsung sensors. The fourth lens is the same color spectrum sensor that Oppo introduced last year Look for the flagship X9which has excellent cameras, and although the camera bump is large, Oppo has worked hard to keep it relatively flat and consistent with the phone.

Seven-core variant of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor The phone works with 16 GB of random access memory (RAM) and 512 GB of storage space. The only real area where Oppo lags behind is dust protection: the Find N6 is rated IP56, 58 and 59, meaning it has excellent water protection but lags behind. Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold And the latest Honor foldable phone when it comes to dust.

Oppo is launching the Find N6 alongside the new AI Pen, which works on both internal and external displays and charges via pogo pins in an accompanying case, which in turn charges wirelessly from the phone. There are also some new programming tricks: multitasking has been expanded by adding up to four freely resizable floating windows, all of which remain active simultaneously. Oppo also said it is working with Google to… Bring AirDrop support For the phone, which should come in a future software update to join The current set of macOS and iOS integrationsincluding file sharing and screen sharing.
