OpenAI’s Codex is now available in the ChatGPT mobile app

OpenAI will allow users to access Codex, a desktop AI tool that can write code and use applications on your computer, from the ChatGPT app on your phone.

The Codex in the ChatGPT mobile app lets you use your phone to tell the Codex on your computer to work on a task. Using your phone, you can “work through all topics, review deliverables, approve commands, change forms, or start something new” in Codex, according to a blog post. “Your files, credentials, permissions, and settings stay local on the device that Codex is running on, while updates stream back to your phone in real time, including screenshots, terminal output, differences, test results, and approvals.”

The feature is now rolling out as a preview on iOS and Android for all ChatGPT plans, including the free plan and the more affordable Go plan.
