Two of the artificial intelligence laboratories, Openai and Anthropic, have announced major initiatives in higher education. It is the ongoing presence that we are all familiar with: this week, Antarubor dropped its announcement at 8 am on Wednesday, while Openai followed almost identical news at 8 am on Thursday.
For Anthropor, this week’s announcement was the first major academic batch. Claude for educing, a university -focused version of Chatbot. The company also announced partnerships with North Eston University, London Economy College (LSE), and Champlin College, along with the Internet 2, which builds the infrastructure of university technology, and directs (fabric maker) to increase “fair access to tools that support universities while integrating from artificial intelligence.”
In the center that focuses on education for anthropology is “learning mode”, a new feature that changes how Claude interacts with students. Instead of providing answers, the press statement says that the learning mode will use the market interrogation to guide students through problems, and asks, “How will you deal with this?” Or “What is the evidence that supports your conclusion?” – With the aim of helping students “developing critical thinking skills” instead of just performing their homework.
“As social scholars, we are in a unique position to understand and form how Amnesty International can transform education and society positively,” said the president and vice advisor to Larry Kramer in a press release of the Ashtarubor.
While Anthropor is now entering higher education, Openai has been active in this field for nearly a year. Startup ChatGPT EDU launched in May 2024-a university-focused version of Chatbot, which came with multiple university partnerships. Last month, the company formed the NextGinai, as it committed 50 million dollars to accelerate artificial intelligence research across 15 colleges. In February, Openai also held a partnership with California State University to bring Chatgpt Edu to all CSU universities. After that, this Thursday, Openai announced that Chatgpt Plus (which costs $ 20 a month) will be free for all university students in the United States and Canadian until May.
The Openai initiative highlights that Chatgpt is “here to help you through finals”, which provides features in addition to large downloads such as file downloads, deep search and advanced audio features.
“University students today face tremendous pressure to learn faster, address the most difficult problems, and the introduction of a working force that is increasingly formed by artificial intelligence. Support for literacy from artificial intelligence means more than showing how these tools work,” said the Vice President of Education at Openai Leah Belsky.
Both laboratories that issue education initiatives simultaneously reveal the high value of university students. The race to include artificial intelligence tools in academic circles is competing to form how the next generation works with artificial intelligence – decisively, to become the default AI tool.
