Greenworks Tools has issued a recall of approximately 554,780 Kobalt-branded power tools designed for yard work due to a battery issue that “presents a risk of serious injury due to fire hazard.” There were 34 reports of tool batteries “producing smoke, sparking, or catching fire while the batteries were inserted into the tool and charged using the USB-C port.” According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC).
