Meta is reportedly developing Oakley smart glasses for athletes


Meta is reportedly gearing up to launch a pair of Oakley smart glasses later this year. According to new Bloomberg reportMeta plans to expand its lineup of AI-powered eyewear beyond its current partnership with Ray-Ban. The report notes that the new glasses will be based on Oakley’s Sphaera model, designed for athletes such as runners and cyclists, and will feature a camera placed near the center of the frame for improved capture.

A Meta representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Oakley is part of Luxottica, which also owns a range of high-end eyewear brands, including Ray-Ban, suggesting that Meta could expand its smart glasses offerings across additional brands in the future.

Both products will be part of a broader push to integrate AI more deeply into consumer devices and better compete with the Apple Watch and AirPods. Bloomberg also reports that Apple has explored adding cameras to its earbuds.
