LG’s new Dolby FlexConnect soundbar will be on display at CES 2026

Dolby Atmos Flex Connect technology For the first time this year With the TCL Z100 speakers, and now we get the first FlexConnect speaker thanks to LG. The new H7 Soundbar – which runs on the same Alpha 11 Gen 3 chip as LG’s OLEDs and New Micro RGB LED – It is part of the LG Sound Suite, a modular home audio system that the company will debut at CES 2026. In addition to the soundbar, the Sound Suite will include the M5 and M7 surround speakers and the W7 subwoofer. All speakers feature unrivaled acoustics.

The two main drawbacks to TCL’s Dolby FlexConnect implementation were the limitation of only allowing four connected speakers, including subwoofers, and the need for TCL’s 2025 QM TV series. So I needed to choose between better sound coverage with a fourth speaker or better bass performance with a subwoofer. LG’s Sound Suite, on the other hand, will allow you to connect the soundbar to up to four surround speakers and Possible 13.1.7 channel system subwoofer.

While the soundbar can be used with a compatible LG TV (including the 2026, C5, and 2025 LG premium TV lineup G5 OLEDs), it is not required. It is possible to use the H7 soundbar with any TV – or without it – and have it act as a so-called main device for connecting surround and sub speakers. LG says there are 27 different speaker configurations, from using two speakers as a stereo pair to a full system with woofers, surrounds and sub.

In my experience with the TCL Z100, calibrating the FlexConnect speakers for your space is also quick. Once in place and plugged in, a short music clip plays for a few seconds and then setup is complete. The system can tell where to place speakers and how to optimize surround sound and Atmos sound for your room. With other room correction software, the process can take much longer, requiring acoustic readings to be taken from multiple locations in the room.

LG uses Ultra Wide Band technology to adjust the sweet spot based on your listening situation called Sound Follow. What will be interesting to see with LG Sound Suite’s Dolby FlexConnect app is how customizable it is after setup (for example, adjusting subwoofer levels).
