If you’ve ever played video games on your laptop, I’m sure you wish you had a bigger screen. I know I definitely have: A 16-inch screen sometimes makes it difficult to see enemies in the games I like to play.
The good news is that Lenovo has revealed a new concept for a gaming laptop Consumer Electronics Show 2026 This may provide the solution to our collective problems.
The Legion Pro Rollable uses Lenovo’s drive-based technology to create a laptop with a horizontally expandable screen. Lenovo has integrated this technology into other laptops in the past, e.g ThinkBook Plus 6th generation rotatable and this year’s ThinkPad Rollable XD concept — but this is the first time the screen moves “outward” instead of “upward.”
This foldable laptop will be designed with Lenovo’s in-house PureSight OLED display technology, delivering reliable color and contrast for any AAA gaming experience.
It has three separate screen modes, allowing people to customize their display size based on their current needs. The Legion Pro Rollable starts with a 16-inch screen, but can expand to 21.5 or 24 inches, depending on how much space you’re working with.
The chassis uses a tension-based dual-actuator design to expand and contract the screen. Lenovo uses low-friction materials to protect the OLED panel from wear during cycling cycles.
This laptop is ostensibly designed for eSports pros, allowing those hardcore gamers to bring a competitive monitor with them for practice while traveling during the season. But being able to carry that much screen space can be an absolute game-changer for every die-hard gaming fan. I imagine the extra vision would provide a huge advantage in first-person shooters or high-stakes extraction games like ARC Raiders.
Internally, the current iteration of the concept is based on the Legion Pro 7i, which features the best Intel Core Ultra CPUs and Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. It’s unclear what specs the consumer-ready Legion Pro Rollable will have, but this should give us a general idea of what the inside of this PC might look like.
