Just in time for Wednesday Galaxy unlocked Samsung unveiled new products Samsung Galaxy Cardthe first branded credit card designed to turn everyday spending into cash rewards — especially for those who shop frequently within the Galaxy ecosystem. The card is launching as a digital experience in Samsung Wallet and a physical metal card featuring the Samsung logo in black.
The Galaxy Card is issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank on the Visa network, with applications opening on Wednesday. A limited-time incentive is also available, allowing cardholders to earn $200 in additional cash rewards after spending $2,000 within the first 90 days of account opening.
“This marks another milestone in the evolution of Samsung Wallet and mobile payments – offering a new solution for busy users who want cash rewards whether they’re running errands or purchasing the latest Galaxy devices,” Woncheol Chai, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics, said in a statement.
However, this is not the first time for a phone manufacturer. Apple entered the credit card business in 2019 with… Presenting her Apple Cardwhich is also available in tangible and virtual formats.
The rewards structure is designed around your first Samsung purchase. Cardholders can earn 5% cash back rewards on eligible purchases made directly with Samsung, 3% rewards when making purchases using Samsung Wallet and 2% rewards on select streaming services, such as Netflix, Disney Plus and Spotify. All other purchases receive a 1% cash back bonus.
Samsung is also offering a benefit through its loyalty program Samsung VIP Advantage, which offers a 20% discount when purchasing or renewing a $150 annual membership.
Samsung said the Galaxy Card is designed to fit into the ecosystem of devices and payments people already use as a new way to finance and reward Galaxy purchases.
