Computing power is not just a way to meet the demand for inference today, but to build the products of tomorrow – and running out of compute means missing out on this opportunity.
By focusing on data centers (terrestrial and otherwise), xAI is positioning itself more like NuCloud: buying GPUs from Nvidia and leasing them to model developers like Anthropic. It’s a much tougher business, pressured by chip suppliers and shifting demand cycles.
