iOS 27 may add a lot of customization to the Camera app


Apple’s upcoming iOS update could include something phone photographers have been waiting for: more control in the Camera app. according to BloombergAccording to Mark Gurman, the Camera app will be “fully customizable” in iOS 27 and users will be able to “choose their own set of controls — called widgets — that run along the top of the interface.”

Gorman notes that the Camera app will retain the current set of default tools, but starting in iOS 27, you’ll be able to “switch to an advanced set of options or choose their own items.” From there, you’ll be able to choose from the new Add Widgets tray, with widgets divided into three categories: Basic, Manual, and Settings. There will also be a distinct set of tools for each of the capture modes in the camera app. According to Gurman, the camera app is also getting a new “Siri” mode to use Apple’s visual intelligence features.

iOS 27 will also reportedly include some design changes in other apps, especially Siri, which Gorman notes will be part of Dynamic Island in iOS 27. Apple’s AI assistant could also be getting Its own application and Integrations with more third-party AI models. Additionally, the Image Playground app and Safari start page are said to be getting a redesign as well as the Weather app adding a new “Conditions” section.
