‘House of Spirits’: When will you watch the new TV series on Prime Video?

Blending history with the best-selling supernatural novel The House of Spirits launched Isabel Allende’s literary career in the 1980s and has gone on to become a staple of school curricula around the world.

The story explores themes of class, politics, and surrealism as it focuses on the multi-generational line of women in the family: Clara, Blanca, and Alba. Now it’s ready to get the big-budget TV treatment with a lavish eight-episode TV series Prime Video this week.

What is the plot of the House of Spirits?

Set at the turn of the 20th century in a fictional version of Chile, the sprawling story follows three generations of the Trueba family as they navigate social, economic, and personal struggles, including secret romances and violent social upheaval.

Leading the cast is Rebel Moon star Alfonso Herrera as strict patriarch Esteban Trueba. Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonzi share the role of Esteban’s talented wife, Clara del Valle, during different times in her life.

This isn’t the first time the beloved book has received the screen treatment, with the novel receiving a film adaptation in 1993 with an all-star cast including Meryl Streep, Winona Ryder and Jeremy Irons. However, it appears that this Spanish-language remake will be a more authentic interpretation of the source material.

This eight-episode series is exclusive to Prime Video, premiering with the opening episode and two more episodes on Wednesday, April 29. A new episode will be released every Wednesday on Prime Video. Streaming service. The final chapter is scheduled to be released on June 3.
