Harold Perrineau raises the wrath of the “despicable” city and what’s next in the fourth season of “Who”

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Season 3 of From. You can catch up on MGM Plus.

For three mysterious and terrifying seasons, MGM’s hit series Who continues to put its unwitting residents through unimaginable horrors. The town, known to fans as Fromville, has a sick way of sparking hope and taking it away, with characters seemingly escaping or killing one of its monsters only to end up back where they were before.

Last season, Mayor and decision-maker Boyd Stevens, played by Harold Perrineau, watched one of Fromville’s seemingly dead creatures return with his signature creepy smile.

“I think it split his brain,” Perino told CNET. “I think when we start at the beginning of Season 4, that’s where Boyd is. I think his mind is split into pieces and he has to either pick up those pieces or lie down and give up because it’s unfathomable.”

Boyd Perrineau is a source of hope and resilience for the people of Fromeville, but he is constantly tormented by monsters, and it is revealed in Season 3 that he is dealing with worsening Parkinson’s disease while in the nightmarish town. According to Perrino, Boyd and the other characters we root for in Who in a fourth season are “really tough.”

“In Season 4, the city becomes more present as a character, if that makes sense,” Perrino said. “You actually realize, ‘Oh, this town is going backwards…and they’re so mean and cruel, and they do things that are, I mean, just despicable.’

From the study of personality

It is the most-watched series in the history of MGM Plus (formerly Epix), according to the network. While From is described as a horror series, Perrino said, “I think at the end of the day it’s more of a character study.”

“It doesn’t surprise me that people will find characters they identify with and think, ‘Oh my God, what would I do if I were in that situation?’ If I were Donna, would I just go and drink? Perino said. “I think that’s the thing that we want from our entertainment, from art, and all of those things.”

Earlier this week, fans learned that Who has a confirmed final season, with Season 4 as the penultimate season. Who will finish the fifth season, which is expected to debut in 2027.

In a joint statement, executive producers John Griffin, Jeff Pinkner and Jack Bender said they “will get the chance to see our story through to its conclusion. Which means questions will be answered. Answers will be questioned. And there will definitely be a series of tears and horror in between.”

What happened in the season 3 finale of Who?

From’s Season 3 finale was a bit giddy. I’m hesitant to try to summarize the episode because it still feels like we can say a few things with certainty about this show. But characters like Fatima, Jade, and Tabitha seem to be piecing together some pivotal pieces of the dark, endless puzzle.

In the last episode, we saw the Fromville Smiley monster again (more specifically – and horrifyingly – Fatima gave birth to the creature). Sarah caused Elgin some serious damage to get him to give up the information. Also, Jade and Tabitha seem to realize that they have set foot in Fromeville before as other people, including Fromeville residents Miranda and Christopher. They were both initially in Fromeville when they tried and failed to save their daughter. According to Fatima, the town monsters sacrificed their children because they were promised that they would live forever.

Am I misunderstanding or ignoring key details? probably. For example, Julie is a “wanderer in the story,” who will likely play a role in upcoming events. But the fun is at least trying to solve the mystery.

I asked Perrino what could bother him about the Man in Yellow, who showed up at the end of Season 3 and shockingly rips out the throat of the main character, Jim. He cryptically said that the Man in Yellow is “the most unexpected character you’ll see all year.”
