Google may not ship the Pixel 11a with an older processor

Mysterious leaks It indicates that the Pixel 11a will return to a display Leading processor With Tensor G6. Instead of Tensor G5 found in Pixel 10 and 10 Prothe Pixel 10a It ships with the previous generation Tensor G4. That was a huge disappointment given that the Pixel a range has typically kept the modern processor, but cut corners elsewhere to cut costs.

The Tensor G6 is rumored to feature the same PowerVR DXT-48-1536 GPU as the G5, but it’s still supposed to be an improvement over the Mali-G715 in the Tensor G4. The big upgrade is that the G6 moves from Samsung’s Exynos modems and instead uses a MediaTek M90 modem. This should help solve two serious problems that have plagued Tensor chips for a long time, namely battery drain and dropped signals.

The Pixel 11a is expected to have a slightly smaller battery, at 4,870 mAh, compared to 5,000 mAh, but efficiency improvements from the new processor mean battery life should remain the same or even improve slightly. The display will still be a 6.3-inch panel with a 1080 x 2424 resolution with a variable refresh rate from 60 to 120 Hz. But it will reach a peak brightness of 3,350 nits, up from 3,000 at 10A.
