A new Google AI tool may be able to translate at the speed of actual conversations, allowing you to speak more naturally to someone who speaks a different language than you.
Google revealed on Tuesday Gemini 3.5 live translationa new voice model designed to make real-time multilingual conversations sound more natural. Unlike traditional translation systems that process speech in turns, Gemini 3.5 Live Translate continuously listens, translates and speaks, allowing conversations to flow with just a few seconds of delay to mimic natural speech patterns.
The model automatically detects spoken languages and supports over 70 languages, enabling thousands of language pairings within the same conversation. Google says the technology is now available to developers and partners, who can integrate it into meetings, communication platforms and mobile applications.

What’s new in Gemini 3.5 Live Translate
