Firefox’s new home page tools help me focus

I fired up Firefox this morning to find some new blocks on my home page. the Widgets The one currently rolling out adds sports scores, time zones, a focus timer, and a checklist, which are already some of my favorite new Firefox features in years. I have a habit Focus, friend I open it on my phone when I need a focus timer, and I use Google Tasks for my checklists. I can now check with similar tools every time I open a new tab in Firefox instead.

My phone’s home screen is full of useful widgets, so it’s a nice addition to have the timer and checklist appear in my browser — it adds some extra functionality and mixes in tools I’m already using elsewhere. The timer is minimal, but having it on the home page is a good balance for me between keeping it out of sight so it doesn’t get distracting, but not so buried that I forget about it.

You can add or remove any of the widgets from the Home Customize tab, and there is a toggle button to expand them. The timer is preset to 25/5 Pomodoro-style intervals, with a 25-minute focus mode and a 5-minute break mode, but you can set both. There is also an optional notification when the timer expires.

The widgets were new Mentioned in the release notes As an improvement between Firefox 151 and the recently released version 152, and just this week, Mozilla launched Road map Of other changes on the way, e.g Nova Project Redesign.
