You don’t want to be the last person in your group text to see a Bigfoot — that is, a Bigfoot emoji — who happens to be a Eight new icons in Apple iOS 26.4 update Out this week.
But the iOS 26.4 update has more to offer than distorted smiley face icons, ballerinas, and fighting clouds. Apple has rolled out a keyboard fix, which is described in Apple’s release notes as “improving keyboard accuracy when typing quickly.”
Watch this: Don’t wait: iOS 26.4 brings new emoji, keyboard fixes, and AI-powered playlists
If you’re frustrated with making typos on your iPhone, maybe this update will make things a little easier. (Or, you know, there are always new ways to express frustration with new emojis. Maybe a sad trombone?)
This week’s episode of One More Thing, embedded above, touches on a number of things Big changes in iOS 26.4Including finding concerts in Apple Music and using AI to design playlists.
It’s hard to keep up with music acts coming to my area, but Apple Music now shows upcoming local concerts, and it’s not just from popular musicians. I saw Jimmy Eat World’s show in June, and clicking for tickets takes me to a portal to connect to the Bandsintown service…unfortunately, the show is sold out. He allowed me to order tickets from distributors to raise prices. I feel totally emo after that.
There’s also a feature called Playlist Playground, which uses AI to create playlists based on your feed prompts and the music you tend to like.
I asked him to show me “rage music because I didn’t get tickets to see Jimmy Eat World,” and she came back with the emotionally charged emo anthems of Missing Jimmy Eat World. The playlist features heroes from the emo rock era of the early 2000s, such as Saves The Day, Take Back Sunday, New Found Glory, Yellowcard and Something Corporate.
You can keep tweaking before saving. I had to tell her to add some Jimmy Eat World to the playlist, funny enough. The software is in beta, but you don’t need to have any special iPhone with Apple Intelligence to try it out — the feature is available to everyone Apple music user, including Apple Music for Android.
At the same time, Podcast app It also got a new feature that includes a way to watch your favorite video versions of podcasts — if the view is set up to switch between audio and video.
But even if that doesn’t pique your interest enough, sometimes it’s just the simple fixes that make updating iOS worth it. There are new settings for Manage payment methods for adults in the household Who uses purchase sharing. There are improvements in accessibility settings to reduce glare effects and reduce liquid glass animation.
There’s also a new Ambient Music widget to tap into some meditative and soothing music at any moment. Like when you need to relax about a Jimmy Eat World concert that you didn’t know existed until you updated your phone. Shish.
