In my estimation, Disney and Raffensperger made one of these films Best games From last year, surpassing even Magic: The Gathering for the maximum amount of fun you can have with trading cards. At the London Toy Fair on Tuesday, Ravensburger not only announced the seventh set, but also gave us a sneak peek at the eighth and ninth sets.
The seventh set is called Arcasia Island and features the first original figure made for Lorcana. We don’t know much about Archazia except that they have a very cool bird mask and live on an island, but the fact that Disney has created a brand new character for the trading card game is exciting. I look forward to learning more about Archazia and their kingdom in March when the seventh set is released.
Along with the new character and location, Set 7 introduces the standard set of new starter packs, card sleeves, play mats, and valuable items that you can purchase. The playmats feature artwork from Big Hero Six and Tigger, while the card sleeves feature Cinderella and Ursula.
The starter decks for Group 7 are a Ruby/Sapphire deck, featuring Belle and Beast, and a Steel/Amethyst deck featuring Jafar and Iago. The artwork for “Inventor Belle” and “Beast with a Monocle” is so good, it makes me want to get the Ruby/Sapphire set right away.
Reign of Jafar looks good, but Fabled is more interesting.
Ravensburger also gave us a sneak peek at what to expect from seasons eight and nine, titled Reign of Jafar and Fabled respectively. “His crown, his kingdom” It is the emblem of Jafar’s reign as Raffensperger tells us that Jafar has seized the island of Arcazia and is trying to make it his kingdom. I’m glad to see that Archazia will be a continuing theme throughout Lorcana even after the 7th set ends.
Fabled only has the sticker but it already looks like a classic Disney mixed with a carousel from the Disney parks. Could it be a fantasy earth theme? We don’t know but I’m already swooning over the old world look.
Archazia’s Island will be released in March, followed by Reign of Jafar in June, and Fabled will follow sometime in Q3 2025. If you haven’t made it to Lorcana yet, now might be a good time. pick up Lorcana Gate If you’ve never played it before, it’s the simplest way to get started.
