Why I like it: When I first introduced my son to screen time, I knew there was no going back. I also understand the importance of limiting screen time, so I made it my mission to look for screen-free alternatives that he might find entertaining. Toniebox 2 was one of the best games he had ever had, keeping him distracted for hours.
This kid-friendly sound box plays stories, songs and more. You can purchase characters from your child’s favorite movies and TV shows that play songs and read stories by simply placing them on the box. Mrs. Rachel, The Muppets, and Toy Story characters are all favorites in our house. If you own the original Toniebox and have the skins, they are still compatible with the newer version.
The Toniebox is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, and connects to the Tonies app, so you can take it with you on the road. It also has sleep support and bedtime routines that you can set up to make bedtime and naps easier. It’s kid-friendly and well-protected with a padded cover that can withstand the bumps and falls of a clumsy toddler. The advantage of the Toniebox 2 is that it can grow with your child. The audio box contains new interactive games that were not available in the original release, and is suitable for playing alone or with a friend.
Who is it best for: This game is perfect for children who love learning through music and stories. It’s also a useful way to encourage independent play because it’s designed for little hands. You can support their love of Disney and other popular cartoon characters without worrying about too much screen time.
Who should not buy it: Toniebox is designed for children ages 1 to 9, which means it may not appeal to older school-age children who have outgrown this type of toy.
