Casio’s retro-looking step tracker is on sale today for less than $40

There are a lot — and I mean a lot — of fitness trackers, many of which can provide a surprising amount of information about your health and fitness. It was said: bare bones Casio WS-B1000which is currently For sale on Amazon and Walmart For an all-time low of $39.10 (about $17), not exactly one of them.

At its core, the WS-B1000 is a lightweight wristwatch with some basic smart elements, a retro design, and a few different color options. There’s no optical heart rate monitor or fancy OLED display, though it does feature a built-in accelerometer to track your steps, up to two years of battery life on a single CR2016 coin cell battery, and Bluetooth for pairing it with your phone. Doing this allows you to view basic activity history in the Casio app while ensuring you always have the correct time at your fingertips (wild concept, I know).

You also get some basic wristwatch functions—including a stopwatch, timer, and alarm—but the appeal of the WS-B1000 lies not in what it offers, but in what it lacks. For someone like me who’s exhausted by push notifications and rarely tracks anything beyond steps, it’s an inexpensive tracker with some Y2K vibes It is a welcome reprieve.
