Boox has announced a new version of its smallest e-reader that expands the Go 6’s functionality to now include note-taking. the New Go 6 (2nd generation) It sticks with the 6-inch, 300dpi e-ink display like its predecessor but gets an increase from 2GB to 3GB of RAM and now supports Boox’s InkSense Plus stylus, which can be used to draw, annotate documents or take handwritten notes.
The Boox Go 6 (Gen II) is now available for pre-order for $199.99 and is expected to start shipping on June 17. $45.99 InkSense Plus pen It’s not included, but you can bundle it with the e-reader for $232.99. This is more expensive than… Entry level Amazon Kindle and Kobo Clara PW Which also feature 6-inch displays, but the new Go 6 gives you the best of both worlds. It runs Android 11 and supports the Google Play Store so you can install mobile apps from Amazon and Kobo, giving you access to e-book stores on both platforms.
The new e-reader’s writing experience may not be as polished as what you’ll get from alternatives like the $449 Remarkable Paper Pro Move, but with Android you’ll be able to choose from a wider range of note-taking apps and perhaps more options for how you sync notes across platforms.
The Boox Go 6 (Gen II) matches other features of the Kindle and Kobo e-readers, including a display light with color temperature adjustments, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 1,500 mAh battery that should last for weeks — unless you try to turn the e-reader into a gaming device. But unlike its competitors, the Boox includes 32GB of built-in storage with the option to expand it significantly using a microSD card.
