Blue Origin has successfully reused its New Glenn rocket


Launching today AST SpaceMobile’s BlueBird 7 satellite aboard Blue Origin’s reusable New Glenn rocket has been a partial success. The New Glenn landed on its landing pad without incident, making it Second launch and landing For the first phase of the booster, Jeff Bezos was officially awarded a reusable launch vehicle. Unfortunately for AST SpaceMobile, the mission was less successful. Its space cell tower was delivered to a lower than expected orbit in the launch vehicle’s second stage, rendering it functionally useless.

As the satellite separates from the launch vehicle and is powered on, the altitude is too low to continue operations using its onboard propulsion technology and it will fall out of orbit.

For his part, Bezos posted a video of the landing on the X without comment.
