Best air purification from 2025

To help inform the air purification choices, we collected 14 of the most popular models in the CNET Labs Product test facility in Luisville, Kentucky, where we put it through a strict set of tests. Our goal was to define air purifiers that provided the best performance in terms of efficiency of particles removal, energy consumption and calm, while assessing their features and value.

The air we breathe is not just the air. In fact, it is a mixture of molecules that are created by humans that occur naturally. The first is mostly consisting of urban and industrial emissions and cars of hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and secondary products for combustion, and the latter is mostly smoke from forest fires, sulfate, luxurious and substance of volcanic activity all over the world.

according to Environmental Protection AgencySome of these microscopic solids and liquid drops, which can consist of hundreds of different chemicals, are so small that it is imperative to inhale them. PM10 and PM2.5, which are particles less than 10 and 2.5 ومر m in their diameter, respectively, are the greatest risk of human health since inhalation once. They devote the depth of the lungs and even in the bloodstream, weakening the appropriate function of the lungs and heart.

“This is the size that can go to our bodies, in our lungs and go to our bloodstream,” said Zhao. He said: “This is the number one environmental risk factor in the world. It kills about 6 to 7 million people annually.”

Our custom air purification test room uses a clear front panel made of network retina and access to the hands of the glove, allowing us to process air purification devices, the particle meter holder for our control device, two fans guaranteeing the appropriate mixture of air and smoke inside the room, vents that guarantee the presence of a small amount From the fresh air at all times, the spark port to light the smoke bombs from outside the drilling, and the exhaust port that removes the remaining smoke safely from the room and the building after each test.

The room is not closed poorly, but it is narrow enough to ensure that there is no dangerous amount of smoke to the ocean. Our mission was to create an environment in which we exposed every air purification unit to the air -saturated air from almost the same focus to assess the extent of the speed and efficiency of the air to breathing conditions.

We have made dedicated smoke bombs, which consist of a 50 % potassium nitrate (KNO3), 40 % of Skros (sugar) and 10 % sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and included safety fabric to ignite it at a distance. Sugar works as our fuel source, while potassium nitrate works as an oxidized agent and guarantees baking soda that our dry mixture remains slow and even burned.

Using the Temtop PMD331 particles, we were able to check that 5 grams of our dry smoke mixture produces between 590 million and 610 million particles per cubic meter. The device is able to calculate molecules of different sizes, including PM2.5 and PM10, and this data is recorded every 15 seconds. Although we are able to calculate molecules of different sizes individually, they are the total number of molecules that we care about, which is the sum of all different sizes.

Temtop is a grave. We use this to track the number of small molecules and fine in the air from our test room during air purification tests.

We prepared a 5 -gram smoke bomb, which is ignited through the ignition port after installing the air purification device and ensuring the appropriate seal. Once the air in the room is saturated with particles (greater than 580 million particles/m3), we turn on the air purification device in question. The data extracted from TeMTOP allows us to track the accurate effect of the air purification device on the number of particles in the actual time.

Noise

The Despell scale is on a table in the CNET LABS studio, where it can take precise readings at the noise level of the different devices we experience.

Using the decibel scale, we measure the high air purification devices in their low, medium and high settings. This is especially important if you are planning to have an air purification device in your bedroom overnight and do not want to disrupt your sleep. We conducted this test in the audio -enhanced studio to ensure that the decibel counter took only sound waves from air purifiers, except for other possible sources.

The tape graph shows how each of the air purification devices that we tested gets its low, medium and higher preparation. Levoit Core Mini was the most quieter to purify the air that we tested in general, while Enviroklenz Air System Plus was the highest sound, in general.

Energy consumption

To answer this question, we used a device called Kill-Awatt And measure the amount of energy that all air purification consumes in the various fan settings. Knowledge of pulling power to purify the air may make a difference in your energy bill.
