Awards for the 13 best game trailers of 2025

The 2025 Gaming Awards on Thursday brought back the biggest night of gaming. Besides celebrating different types of games and recognizing the best game of the year, the awards are a huge stage to showcase trailers for upcoming games.

Competition for this year’s awards was fierce (just check out ours CNET Group’s Game of the Year picks), from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to Hades 2 to Silksong to Donkey Kong Bananza and more. Although the eventual winner of The Game Awards’ Game of the Year award wasn’t too surprising, with Clair Obscur having won several previous awards already, it was well-deserved – and they concluded their GOTY speech by announcing that the previously announced 1.5 update will be dropping tonight.

In addition to the return of Lara Croft, a new Star Wars game, the latest Jonathan Blow game since 2016’s The Witness, a new Remedy game and more, the show is packed with plenty of revelations.
