Sometimes you need a screen bigger than yours phone To get things done, but connecting your tablet to the Internet can be difficult. You need to find (and trust) a local Wi-Fi network, use your phone as a wireless hotspot, or subscribe to a dedicated data plan for that device.
For owners of cellular-enabled iPads, AT&T offers an easier and cheaper alternative. the Unlimited daily ticket The iPad, available today, costs $3 and offers 24 hours of high-speed data.
The feature is a pay-as-you-go option and works with iPad, iPad Pro, iPad Air or iPad mini Supports eSIM technology; Apple lists these models as “Wi-Fi plus Cellular.” Plus, the card is open to anyone with a compatible iPad — not just AT&T customers.
First day pass is free (one iPad per customer). Subsequent passes are charged at a rate of $3 (taxes included) via credit or debit card.
AT&T Unlimited Day Pass on iPad is activated through iPad settings, not through a separate app.
The Unlimited Day Pass doesn’t require an app to connect, either. Registration and payment for the service are done entirely through the iPad Settings app. In Cellular data settings, select Find a new planhandle AT&Thandle Unlimited daily ticket Follow the prompts to enter your payment information.
An AT&T representative confirmed that data speeds are as high as device and network conditions allow (with the caveat that AT&T can reduce speeds if necessary due to network congestion).
The service is currently only available for iPad models equipped with a cellular network. An AT&T representative said extending today’s clearance to Android tablets is on the company’s roadmap, but we don’t have a clear release date yet.
