Apple’s new Studio Display XDR adds the Mini LED upgrade

After a few years between updates, Apple has two New 5K display optionsranging from expensive to very expensive, with the 27-inch 5K Studio Display and Studio Display XDR. Both have a 5120 x 2880 resolution and 12MP central cameras built inside – we’ll be excited to see them How much better this time – Three microphones, six-speaker sound systems with spatial audio support and built-in “Hey Siri,” plus two Thunderbolt 5 ports and two USB-C ports.

The XDR model adds new Mini LED backlight technology that increases its maximum brightness, as well as improved contrast and black levels that should work well with HDR. There’s also support for 120Hz refresh rate (if connected to an M4 Mac or later, or an M5 iPad Pro) and adaptive sync. One other difference is that the XDR has support for up to 140W of host charging, while the standard model goes up to 96W.

Pre-orders will open starting tomorrow, March 4, priced at $1,599 for the Studio Display and $3,299 for the Studio Display XDR.
