Anthropy upgrades Claude’s memory to attract AI Transformers

Anthropic is making it easier to switch to Claude AI than other chatbots with an update that brings Claude’s memory feature to users on the free plan, along with New and customized tool To import data from other chatbots. These upgrades could allow users using competitors like OpenAI’s ChatGPT or Google’s Gemini to quickly copy data collected by their favorite AI and bring it into Anthropic’s chatbot. This way, they won’t have to “start over” teaching Claude the context and history that their previous chatbot already knows.

The option to import and export Memories from Claude has been available since October, when Anthropic also rolled out an option for users Turn on Cloud Memory. Until now, the memory feature was only available to users of paid Claude subscriptions, but now all Claude users can turn it on by going to Settings and then Abilities. This menu is also where users can find the new Memory Import Tool, which has users copy a previously written prompt to their previous AI and then copy the output from that prompt back into Claude’s Import Tool.
