Claude He may start to remember things about you.
Paid subscribers to Anthropic’s generative AI tool can now use a “memory” feature that allows the chatbot to be more context-aware of conversations you’ve had with it previously. So, you can start a new conversation with Claude without having to rehash the details you already told the chatbot in a previous message.
There are clear benefits to having The artificial intelligence remembers what you told it Before – and perhaps just as much concerns about this topic. The company says This memory will help Claude focus “on learning professional context and work patterns to maximize productivity.”
It also says that the memory introduces “new security considerations” and that the feature is designed “to be useful in work settings, avoiding sensitive conversations and topics.”

Anthropic says that the memory feature is completely optional and that users will have fine-grained controls to help them manage exactly what Claude remembers.
Cloud joins the likes of ChatGPT and Gemini, which also have memory features, along with the ability to enable or disable them within settings.
The memory will be available to all Claude Max subscribers starting Thursday and will be rolled out to Pro users in the coming days.
Here’s what paid Claude users can expect.
Memory will pull up context from conversations you had with Claude before. This should help provide more informed answers and make problem solving easier. You won’t have to explain the same thing over and over again.
Anthropic gives users some simple controls. You can:
You can also go to an incognito conversation for a memory-free discussion if you don’t want to edit any of your settings.
If you have multiple projects in Claude, you won’t need to worry about memories bleeding into each other, like a bad dream. Each project will have its own distinct memory space, so what Claude remembers from project to project stays in place.
One of the most interesting features offered is the ability to Import and export memories To and from other chatbots, so you won’t feel locked into just Claude. Transferring memories from ChatGPT or Gemini is just a copy and paste process.
The support page notes that the memory is still under active development and that imported memories may not be integrated into conversations.
