Anthropic launches Claude Design, a new product for creating quick visuals

Anthropic Announce On Friday, it will launch Claude Design, a new beta product that lets users create visuals like prototypes, slides, one-pagers, and more with Claude. The company says Claude Design aims to help people like founders and product managers who don’t have a design background share their ideas more easily.

With Claude Design, users describe what they want, and Claude will create a rough version. From there, users can enhance the visuals through edits or direct requests.

For example, you could ask Claude to “create a prototype of a calming mobile meditation app. It should have soothing typography, subtle colors inspired by nature, and a clean layout.”

You can then adjust the colors, print size, or ask Cloud to add a dark mode toggle.

While Claude Design may initially appear to be looking to compete with the popular design app Canva, which… has just expanded its AI capabilities, Anthropic told TechCrunch that it aims to complement it rather than replace it. The company said its new product is designed for people who are not starting from a design tool and need to go from an idea to something visual quickly.

Once teams create presentation decks or prototypes, they can export them as PDFs, URLs, or PPTX files, or send them to Canva. Once in Canva, it’s fully editable and collaborative, Anthropic says.

Cloud Design can also apply the team’s design system to every project it creates so that the results are consistent with the overall visual style of the company. Anthropic says Claude Design is able to do this by reading the company’s code base and design files. Additionally, teams can improve these components and maintain more than one design system.

In January, Anthropic was introduced Claude CoworkAn agent assistant designed for complex tasks. But so far, Anthropic isn’t interested in the latest offering, according to the report.
