An ongoing review of my Galaxy Z Fold 8 phone with the foldable passport from Samsung

Samsung’s foldable lineup has become more ambitious lately, compared to last year’s ultra-thin lineup Galaxy Z Fold 7 To sprawling Galaxy Z Tri-Fold. But the phone I’m most excited to use is the size of a new passport Galaxy Z Fold 8.

With a 4:3 aspect ratio and a satisfyingly compact build, the Z Fold 8 looks refreshingly different from most phones sold today. It’s well-suited for watching horizontal videos and multitasking in landscape mode, while also giving portrait-oriented apps more breathing room in portrait orientation. The 5.5-inch cover screen is comfortable for everyday tasks like texting or checking email, while the 7.6-inch inner screen is more versatile for scrolling or browsing without feeling bulky.

One not-so-small item is the price; The Z Fold 8 starts at $1,900. It comes with dual 50MP rear cameras (no telephoto camera here) and a 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 20W wireless charging.
