Amazon Web Services confirms damage after drone strikes in the Middle East


Amazon’s data centers located in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain were damaged this weekend by drone strikes, disrupting the company’s cloud services, Amazon reported. “These strikes caused structural damage, disrupted power delivery to our infrastructure, and in some cases required fire suppression activities that resulted in additional water damage,” the company said in a statement. “We are working closely with local authorities and prioritizing the safety of our employees during recovery efforts.”

An Amazon representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
